Christmas Cards in the Making

As I was sitting down to plan my Christmas cards this year, I really wanted to do something “Outside the Box” so I challenged myself to make this year’s holiday cards without any of the traditional materials . . or at last as few of them as possible and here is what I came up with:

By using items that I wouldn’t normally use for Christmas, it allowed me to be more creative. I love using products in totally different ways than what is expected.

Stamping with Glue

I decided to stamp a beautiful background stamp in glue and then use fine glitter over the top to create this artsy background. I also used some white paint splatters for my “snow” to give it more interest.

French Dictionary Page

Once the background was finished, I could start to roll my dictionary pages. It was quite easy to roll and then glue in place to form the Christmas tree. 

The French dictionary pages were a little brittle but I misted them with a tiny bit of water to soften them before rolling. 

Sew Around the Edges

One of my favorite things is to sew around the edges of my card fronts. I think it gives it that something special. Finally I added the start, a little bling and some extra glitter of course!
